Terms of Service
Last updated: August 3, 2026
The short version — Be nice. Don’t abuse the site, the API, or the data license. HoneyDB is provided as-is.
1. Who we are
HoneyDB is a honeypot threat-intelligence service operated by Deception Logic, Inc. By using the site, creating an account, or calling the API, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
HoneyDB provides community-driven threat data via this site and the HoneyDB API. The service — especially the free tier — is provided “as is” with no guarantees of availability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account, its credentials, and its API keys. Keep them secret; activity under your keys is yours.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t abuse the site. Scraping the website with automation is abuse — use the HoneyDB API instead. Don’t attempt to disrupt the service, evade rate limits, or interfere with other users.
5. API and data licensing
API data is free for non-commercial use. Commercial use — embedding HoneyDB data in a product or service, redistribution, or value-added offerings — requires a commercial license. The HoneyDB API page has the authoritative terms; plans has licensing options.
An active Commercial plan is that commercial license — there is no separate agreement to sign. It permits you to embed and redistribute HoneyDB data within your own product or service, up to the query limits of your plan. The license runs for as long as the subscription does: when the subscription ends, so does the right to embed or redistribute, including for data you obtained while it was active.
6. Paid plans and billing
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on the schedule shown on the plans page. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time from the billing portal. Canceling a paid plan moves your account to the free Community plan, and paid-plan features and their stored configuration (such as monitors and their notifications) are removed.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deception Logic, Inc. is not liable for damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) HoneyDB. Threat data is informational — decisions you make with it are your own.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using HoneyDB at any time; to have your account deleted, ask us via the contact form. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or violate the data license.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Privacy
See the privacy policy for what we collect and how it’s used.
